How do Dual Enrollment classes work?
Dual enrollment classes are college-level courses that can be taken while in high school, meeting both high school and college graduation requirements. Students take dual enrollment classes at their high school or online with certified VHCC instructors.

Dual enrollment classes are traditionally offered for 11th and 12th graders. 10th graders can get special permission from their school principal to take dual enrollment courses.
Successful completion of a Dual Enrollment course guarantees college credit. AP courses require students to take an exam upon completion of the course-- colleges award credit for the course based on a student’s exam score. Dual Enrollment courses offer a more streamlined guarantee of being awarded college credit.
